custom characters

Customs are characters created from imagination! I require at least a detailed written description of:

  • Species

  • Height

  • Body type (Chubby? Chiseled? Short? Tall? Well endowed? Digitigrade legs or plantigrade?) you don't need to have all the answers yet--but if you're sure about something, please mention it!

  • Post and/or demeanor

  • Colors

  • Hair description if possible

    While not required—pictures, Pinterest moodboards, rough doodles (yes, even on a sticky note) etc. are SUPER appreciated!

process

The process changes depending on character and client needs, but here is a rough example of the customs process:

Step 1:

I will send a rough sketch of a pose or two to nail down body type, as well as variations of a few traits up for discussion (head shape, tail shape, wing shape).

 

Step 2:

A cleaner sketch of the body & head will be delivered and we will also begin discussing hair shape & length and facial details such as expression and eye shape.

 

Step 3:

Final lines will be delivered and base color options will be delivered. If the character has spots or stripes, we will experiment with those.

 

Step 4:

Final piece will be delivered! You will receive a transparent PNG and also receive a PSD with the linework, colors, markings etc on their own layers ready for editing.

terms

You character belongs to you! I do not require credit for creation other than on the piece I drew myself—meaning please don’t claim the drawing as your own.

 

Reselling/trading: You can resell, trade, get commissions, etc. Just please credit me for the final piece when rehoming your character so that the new owners are aware!
